This calculator provides a mathematical estimate. Break, overtime, rounding, rest and pay rules vary by country, contract and collective agreement.
The displayed amount is a gross estimate. It does not automatically include taxes, contributions, deductions or local payroll rules.

The calculator converts each clock time into minutes from midnight, totals the work periods, subtracts unpaid breaks and then classifies optional overtime.
net = sum(work periods) - unpaid breaksOvernight shifts add 1,440 minutes to the end time before subtracting the start time.
decimal hours = total minutes / 60The decimal value is useful when you need to enter hours in a payroll or invoicing system.
gross estimate = normal × rate + overtime × rate × multiplierDaily overtime is classified first, then weekly overtime is applied only to hours still considered normal.
Enter a break as minutes for each day. When the break is longer than the worked period, the calculator stops and shows a validation error.
For a shift such as 22:00 to 06:30, enable the overnight option. The result remains eight hours after a 30 minute break.
Overtime is optional because legal rules differ. Enter only the thresholds and multipliers that match your contract or internal policy.
| 15 minutes | 0.25 hour |
|---|---|
| 30 minutes | 0.50 hour |
| 45 minutes | 0.75 hour |
| 1 h 15 | 1.25 hours |
| 1 h 30 | 1.50 hours |
| 1 h 45 | 1.75 hours |
The formulas were reviewed as a neutral time calculation method. These references provide context on working time and pay rules; the calculator does not apply any legal rule automatically.

European Union context on working time, rest and night work protections.
Enter a start time, end time and unpaid break. The calculator subtracts the break from the gross shift duration.
Enter the lunch break in minutes on the same day. A 09:00-17:30 shift with 30 minutes break gives 8 h 00.
Use the overnight checkbox for that period so the end time is treated as the following day.
Divide the minutes by 60. For example, 7 h 30 equals 7.5 decimal hours.
Enable overtime and enter your own daily or weekly threshold. The calculator does not assume a universal legal threshold.
This version accepts one unpaid break total per day and multiple work periods. More detailed break intervals can be added later without changing the engine.
Yes. Choose the two-week mode to display fourteen rows and calculate each week separately for weekly overtime.
Choose no rounding or a 5, 6, 10 or 15 minute increment, then apply it to each period or to the daily total.
Use it as a check only. Payroll rules, records and approvals depend on your employer and local law.
